ATI extends industry support with two new chip offerings

MARKHAM, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 3, 2005–ATI Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:ATYT) (TSX:ATY) has been selected as a finalist for Company of the Year (Large) for the 2005 EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards. ATI was selected for successful leadership in the electronics industry based on both product success and employee performance. EE Times (www.eetimes.com) is the premier technology and business newsweekly for the creators of technology. EE Times print editions reach more than 200,000 electronics professionals worldwide and each month more than 5 million pages on its online editions are viewed by electronics professionals from more than 100 countries.

ATI’s recognition is based on a majority of original equipment manufacturer design wins that ATI achieved at the PCI Express transition, coupled with the fact that the company was the first to 0.13um low-k and to 0.11um for chip production.

“ATI Technologies was selected as a finalist for exhibiting technical excellence, the highest degree of professionalism in staff development and retention, customer focus, and profitable growth,” said Paul Miller, VP/Publisher, EE Times. “EE Times is proud to recognize ATI as a true leader in the electronics sector.”

“ATI is very proud to be recognized by EE Times in the Company of the Year (Large) category,” said Dave Rolston, Vice President, Workstation and Embedded Products, ATI Technologies Inc. “ATI has achieved great success with desktop and mobile graphics solutions. ATI is dedicated to expanding its product portfolio and we’re excited to deliver additional products to customers with the same attention to detail and performance to the embedded technologies market.”

ATI is extending its offerings to the embedded industry by introducing two new chip technology solutions:

- ES1000 offers a cost effective solution for applications with fundamental graphics, low power, and long lifecycle requirements. ES1000 is useful for less graphically intensive applications such as instrumentation, Point-of-sale/Automatic Teller Machines/Kiosks, and manufacturing plants/shop floors controls displays.
