AUSTIN, TX — December 13, 2004 –AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the availability of the AMD Geodeâ„¢ GX SOM-144 Reference Design Kit (RDK), a low-power, high-performance System-On-Module designed to speed development and functionality of the next generation of industrial computing products, such as embedded controllers, point-of-sale terminals, information appliances and kiosks. The RDK is a small form factor reference design tool that includes both hardware and software specifications.
Based on the AMD Geode GX 533@1.1W processor*, the RDK provides customers with an affordable, targeted solution that can be easily configured to address industrial application performance needs throughout the design and development cycle. To meet demands for more compact, powerful devices, manufacturers require a design solution that allows for flexibility while supporting widely adopted industry standards.
