BitGravity Taps Chris Turner as Vice President of Worldwide Sales to Further Accelerate Growth and Expand Channels

Veteran Sales Executive Hails from Akamai, IBM, Intelliden and SkyeTek

BitGravity, Inc., the pioneer in Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) for interactive broadcasting, today announced Chris Turner has joined the company as its vice president of worldwide sales. Mr. Turner brings more than 18 years of technology industry sales experience to the company’s leadership team and will lead BitGravity’s global sales efforts including development of worldwide channels, business development and support.

Previously, Mr. Turner held the position of vice president of worldwide sales and support at Intelliden Corporation, which enabled service providers and large enterprise networks to manage and control their IP infrastructure for security, accountability and control. Mr. Turner also served as the executive vice president of sales and business development for SkyeTek, a leading maker of modular RFID readers and software.

Mr. Turner held a variety of positions at Akamai Technologies including senior vice president of global sales, where he managed a team of 250 and was responsible for Akamai’s revenue of over $150m in annual sales. During his tenure at Akamai, Mr. Turner also held the positions of vice president of worldwide channel and international sales, vice president North American sales, and director of alliances and channel sales. In these roles, Mr. Turner developed Akamai’s first Channel Sales program and through his leadership, grew the program to include more than 70 reseller partners and over 200 alliance partners.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Turner spent 10 years at IBM in various positions in Large Account Marketing working closely with the CIO and CEO offices, the Internet Division at North American headquarters, and various field sales management positions.

Mr. Turner has a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business and political science from Ohio Wesleyan University.
