General Press Releases March 15th, 2008
Speakers Include Bestselling Authors and Leading Web Design Experts—Steve Krug, Garr Reynolds, Molly Holzschlag, and More
New Riders, the Web design industry’s leading imprint, today announced the 2nd annual Voices That Matter: Web Design Conference, a dedicated conference for the Web design community, to be held June 10–13, 2008, at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Following last year’s tremendous success, the 2008 conference is adding new speakers and sessions, bringing together New Riders’ bestselling authors, Web designers, and creative professionals from the industry’s top companies and design firms. These include Don’t Make Me Think author and usability expert Steve Krug, Presentation Zen author Garr Reynolds, Bulletproof Ajax author Jeremy Keith, Transcending CSS: The Fine Art of Web Design author Molly Holzschlag, and many others. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with, learn from, and be inspired by Voices That Matter in the Web design community.
The Voices That Matter conference series, organized and produced by Pearson Education, serves its reader communities and authors—the industry influencers and acknowledged superstars in their fields—by providing a forum for learning and collaboration. “We’ve learned a lot about what makes this kind of event really meaningful for Web designers, and we’re applying that knowledge to a custom-tailored program targeted specifically to helping today’s Web designers gain new skills, insights, and experience,” said Nancy Aldrich-Ruenzel, publisher of New Riders and Peachpit and Vice President of Pearson Technology Group. “Our editors have collaborated with our top authors to ensure attendees grow their network of contacts, get the opportunity to personally interact with speakers, and exchange ideas and best practices with one another for new sources of inspiration.”
“The keynote presentations exceeded my expectations mostly because of the quality of the speakers, but also because of the content,” said 2007 Web Design Conference attendee Robert Felker of CNN.com. “They were thought provoking and inspiring.”
