Internet-Based Medical System Offers Physicians MedCom Transcription
Over Its Network For High-Quality Service, Savings of Up To 70%

Doctations, Inc., the company that has developed DocPatient.com, a unique internet-based medical system that empowers the doctor-patient relationship, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with Phoenix MedCom, one of the fastest growing providers of quality medical transcription. The partnership will allow physicians to take advantage of high-quality medical transcription services over the internet-based DocPatient.com network, at a savings that can reach the range of 50-70% in both time and overhead costs to their practices.

“We are very pleased to be able to bring the high-quality services of Phoenix MedCom onto the DocPatient.com platform,” said Dr. Louis Cornacchia III, M.D., F.A.C.S., and President and CEO of Doctations, Inc. “They have a great and long-standing reputation in the medical transcription industry, and through this affiliation we can offer their services to our growing network of physician users.”

“DocPatient.com is truly on the leading edge of a new wave of healthcare in this country,” said Robert J. Manning, Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix MedCom. “We are very pleased to be able to offer our services through their unique network.”

Doctations’ system is a highly secure, easy-to-use group of websites (under the umbrella of DocPatient.com) that facilitate communication between doctor and patient. For the doctor, the system provides a platform for them to communicate with their patients as well as with all of the other healthcare providers involved in their care. Physicians using the system save up to 70% of the time required to prepare reports, can use electronic communication to retrieve second opinions, view documents produced by all physicians treating a patient, and import lab and radiological reports into their record system.

All of this, in turn, leads to greater efficiency and reduced chance for error since all healthcare practitioners involved with a patient are accessing the same medical information consistently via the patient’s “Clinical Vault”, which is updated along the way. For patients, the Doctations DocPatient Network restores the personal relationship between them and their doctor, while at the same time expands their access to healthcare by using the Internet for secure electronic communications with their doctor, through both text and video.

Currently, the DocPatient Network has approximately two dozen physician users registered and about five thousand patients.
