GW Equity Announces Sale of Essex Internet Services to T6 Wireless Inc.

GW Equity, an advisor to privately held and family-owned businesses for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives, announced the sale of its client Essex Internet Services, an Internet and telephone service provider, based in Sterling, Ill., to T6 Wireless, Inc., a Belvidere, Ill.-based wireless and dial-up Internet provider. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, T6 will obtain four separate business entities including Essex Computers, Inc., Essex Telcom, Inc., Essex Teliplex and Internet Services of Northern Illinois, Inc.

“Once we met with T6 we knew this was a great fit,” said Matt Kneifl, GW Equity vice president and dealmaker in the transaction. “Essex was not only a perfect business compliment for T6, but the management for both companies just clicked. We’re confident the new relationship will prove to be hugely successful.”

The deal closed 14 months after Essex entered the market.
