Prysmian Cables & Systems, one of the leading global companies in the energy and telecommunication cables market, will once again participate at the MCE 2008 to reinforce its strong association with the Oil & Gas sector and deepwater developments in particular. MCE, the leading conference addressing technical issues related to engineering, development, and production of oil and gas in deep and ultra deepwater arenas around the world, will this year take place in Paris from April 8 to 10. Prysmian’s latest range of subsea products will be on display, and introduced by a comprehensive team of market and product specialists.

2007 was a very important year for Prysmian’s umibilical business, seeing the first full year of operation of its new Vila Velha facility in the state of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Some notable successes included the closing of contracts to supply umbilicals for StatoilHydro and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation’s Peregrino development off the coast of Brazil, as well as steel tube umbilicals for Petrobras’ Plangas project, which will fully demonstrate the Vila Velha plant as a full range producer of umbilicals.

“Prysmian is once again pleased to participate at the MCE Conference, the foremost event for deepwater development of offshore resources”, said Llyr Roberts, Director, Industrial Market, at Prysmian. “For Prysmian, the MCE event in Paris gives us the opportunity to meet the major players developing deepwater resources. This year’s focus on Africa is interesting due to its proximity to our umbilical manufacturing facility in Brazil.”

By visiting Prysmian at the MCE 2008 (Stand 415), clients and press can meet the company’s management, who will be available to share the latest announcements and product releases, as well as the company’s vision and strategy, focused on the innovation of products and production processes and the use of advanced proprietary technology.
