Interop Technologies and Alaska DigiTel Announce Agreement to Deploy OTA Programming Solution

Interop Technologies, a leading provider of advanced wireless technology solutions, and Alaska DigiTel, a CDMA wireless operator serving key areas of Alaska, today announced that the service provider has purchased the Over-the-Air (OTA) Programming Solution 3.3 from the solutions company. The deployment, scheduled for the second quarter, will enable Alaska DigiTel to reduce retail activation time by up to 40 percent and automatically update customers’ phones.

Using the hosted Interop Technologies OTA solution, Alaska DigiTel can provision and program a substantial number of customers’ phones faster and easier. The operator also will be able to adjust Preferred Roaming Lists (PRLs) to manage cost structures and react quickly to changing roaming relationships in a competitive market. These capabilities can help Alaska DigiTel reduce expenses while providing improved convenience to customers, who will no longer need to visit one of the company’s 10 retail stores to update their phones.

The Interop Technologies OTA solution supports encrypted programming, increasing network security and reducing potential fraud. Real-time, Web-based customer care and reporting from the OTA campaign to the individual customer level are included in the solution.
