BigFix Partners with Safend to Provide Port and Device Control Solution to their Customers; Safend Expands Partner Profile

Safend, a leading provider of enterprise endpoint Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solutions, and BigFix, a leader in real-time IT security and management solutions for the distributed enterprise, today announced that they are partnering to offer Safend Protector as a deployment option on BigFix’s Discovery 7 platform. The BigFix solutions cover a number of services that include Asset Discovery and Inventory, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Patch Management, Power Management, Security Policy Enforcement, Software Distribution, Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation. By partnering with Safend, joint customers benefit from having real-time visibility into every computer, port, and device in their IT infrastructure.

The BigFix Discovery 7 Platform implements a lightweight, massively scalable framework for real-time visibility and control of all endpoint computers fixed or mobile, at enterprise scale with minimal investment and additional dedicated infrastructure. By working with Safend, BigFix extends its solution by providing IT administrators with management and control of all devices and ports within an organization, allowing them to set granular policies that manage access control and prevents data leakage.

Safend Protector guards confidential data stored on enterprise PCs and laptops against loss, tampering and theft by both monitoring the transfer of sensitive data as well as controlling access to removable storage devices and wireless communication ports, including USB, FireWire, WiFi, Bluetooth, Infrared (IrDA) and CD/DVDs.
