Annual Industry Convention to Feature Enhanced Digital Discussions in Music, Technology and Telecom Industries

The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) announces that its 2008 Convention will feature a two-day “Digital” conference, specifically created as the only music industry event solely focused on selling digital entertainment.

Taking place May 6 - 7 in San Francisco, Digital NARM is designed to improve the bottom line for industry professionals who market or sell music in this rapidly-evolving marketplace. Today, as physical and digital music continues to evolve, and distribution models further define themselves, Digital NARM will offer targeted information delivered by top-level industry leaders in a thought-provoking environment.

Offering results-oriented information and quality networking opportunities, Digital NARM will create discussion around the convergence of physical, digital, and mobile music fueled by rapid technological advancement in the entertainment space.

“Digital NARM will feature well-respected thought leaders from an array of industries involved with developing the future of digital music,” says NARM President Jim Donio. “This is an ideal, one-of-a-kind forum to share ideas, create partnerships across industries, and develop the future of digital music.”

Participating speakers represent: Amazon.com; AT&T; eMusic; Facebook; My Space Records; Motorola; Napster; IODA; IRIS; The Orchard; Nokia; 9 Squared; Imeem; last.fm; and the four major music distribution companies. Sessions will be moderated by renowned analysts and journalists from various media outlets, including: LA Times; Gartner Research; and Digital Music News.

Highlights of Digital NARM will include debates among key players in the digital industries in sessions that offer artist and management perspectives on today’s technologically-shifting environment. Other topics:
