Patent Expands Use of Sigaba Key Server Technology to Communication Methods Between Applications
RSA Conference 2008
Sigaba (www.sigaba.com), a leader in secure information sharing, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company its seventh patent, which provides for secure communication methods beyond email for its SigabaNet™ technology. Newly issued patent 7,325,127 provides for the protection of content regarding all forms of communication that use a key server.
“This patent achieves another milestone in our strategy and continues the expansion of our intellectual property portfolio, further demonstrating our ability to innovate and meet the critical secure information sharing needs of our customers,” said Troy Hartless, President and CEO. “Organizations look to Sigaba to secure their critical business applications with a single security infrastructure to seamlessly share information between employees, customers and partners.”
When combined with Sigaba patents 6,158,007 – Security System for Event Based Middleware and 7,277,549 – System for Implementing Business Processes using Key Server Events, the company now has intellectual property for all forms of content protected by a key server and transmitted by any type of messaging or middleware protocol. For organizations, this means that they can securely share information by enabling all of their critical business systems for authentication, encryption, key management, digital signing and federation services from a single SigabaNet security infrastructure.
Organizations today struggle with labor intensive identity management mechanisms and multiple disparate security measures to control access, authentication, authorization and data security. These create tremendous complexity and inefficiency for the enterprise, its customers, and its partners. The SigabaNet platform offers a solution for alleviating these difficulties by enabling a user’s log-in, authentication credentials and privileges to be shared across different applications and network domains, whether internal or external to the organization. End-users need only to identify and authenticate at one location and are then able to securely access multiple resources in other domains.
“With the issuance of this patent, Sigaba’s innovation and unique architecture continues to be recognized as a distinct point of competitive differentiation,” said Jahan Moreh, Chief Security Architect at Sigaba. “An organization that chooses to implement Sigaba products will immediately realize the uppermost in information security, ease-of-use for the end user and a future-proof design for IT managers.”
