Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley 2008
Booth #2010

Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ: AMCC), a global leader in embedded Power Architecture™ processing, optical transport and storage solutions, announced today that it will team with customers and partners to showcase advanced solutions of its line of embedded processors during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley from Tuesday to Thursday, April 15 to 17 at booth #2010 in the McEnery Convention Center. The solutions will demonstrate AMCC’s ability to meet a diverse set of industry needs ranging from cost-sensitive wireless applications to powerful storage solutions with its embedded processor products.

AMCC’s PowerPC® 405EX demonstration will feature an enterprise wireless LAN access point reference design with streaming video. This solution was designed for cost-sensitive wireless access applications and highlights the company’s partnership with TeamF1.

The company’s PowerPC 440EPx demonstration is a secure gateway solution designed to show the performance benefit of hardware security acceleration and how it thwarts protocol-level attacks with TeamF1 again as a partner.

Video support and real-time Linux will be another highlight of AMCC’s PowerPC 440EPx demonstration. Through the company’s partnership with Denx, the showcase will display video on an ATI graphics card as well as real-time interrupt latency benchmarking.

By demonstrating the PowerPC 440GX system simulation environment, AMCC and Virtutech will show the use of Virtutech Simics™ models for advanced software debugging.

The PowerPC 440SPe accelerated RAID on Linux™ demonstration will feature streaming video from a server to a RAID-based file system.

By teaming up with Silicon Turnkey Express, AMCC will show a dual-processor AMC card reference design based on the PowerPC 460GT, a highly-integrated solution for wireless infrastructure applications.

At the show, AMCC will further explain Power Architecture’s versatility in storage applications by highlighting storage systems from Accusys and Proware.

At Avnet’s booth (#1128), AMCC will demonstrate the low-cost, easy-to-use PowerPC 460EX evaluation kit and the associated Resource CD with benchmarks, sample applications and extensive documentation.

At Arrow’s booth (#1630), AMCC will showcase its partnership with TimeSys through a LinuxLink development environment for the 440EPx.
