Kodak Providing Latest Digital Medical and Dental Imaging Technology to Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games
Olympic athletes will benefit from Eastman Kodak Company’s digital expertise next February in Torino, Italy, as Kodak will provide digital medical imaging systems to help on-site healthcare professionals diagnose injuries and other health concerns during the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
Medical and dental imaging and information systems from Kodak’s Health Group will enable medical staff at the three state-of-the-art Olympic polyclinics—in Torino, Bardonecchia and Sestriere, Italy—to treat athletes for life- and career-threatening injuries (including facial-dental trauma) as well as common ailments.
“Immediate treatment is crucial to quick recovery from sports injuries. Kodak’s digital imaging and information systems allow doctors to quickly diagnose injuries so proper treatment can begin right away,†said Kevin J. Hobert, President, Kodak’s Health Group. “In some cases, Kodak technology could make the difference in an athlete staying at the Games and competing, rather than returning home. The medical and dental imaging technologies we are supplying to the Torino Games signify a major advancement in the level of patient care provided to Olympic athletes.â€
