Sogeti, a premier provider of information technology services to businesses and public-sector organizations worldwide and member of Capgemini Group, will be launching its first ever 72 hour online collaborative brainstorm for all 18,000 Sogeti employees in 14 countries around the word. The event will be inaugurated by Jacques Attali, President of A&A and of PlaNet Finance1, writer, at 9.40 AM CET on April, 15 2008 at Sogeti’s Paris Head Office. Eric Besson, French Minister for the Development of the Digital Economy, will also be supporting the online event.
The event’s aim is to provide employees around the world the opportunity to be personally involved in the development of the company’s future – to brainstorm new ideas and to collaborate online with their international colleagues. The online brainstorm will focus on four essential themes: Clients, People, Technology and Corporate Social Responsibility. The event will run from April 15th, starting in India, and will conclude in the US on April 17th 2008.
Sogeti’s creative exchange of ideas will use a Web 2.0 social networking solution – the IBM Idea Factory for Cloud Computing – an open standard based innovation platform for developing and refining new business ideas. The Sogeti event was inspired by IBM’s own global Innovation Jam™, a web-based activity for IBM employees, clients and business partners to come up with new ideas on growth opportunities. Sogeti and IBM are premier business partners, and the two companies have developed solid relationship in exploring social networking projects for professionals and business communities.
The innovation process will continue beyond this initial brainstorm. The best ideas contributed by staff will be debated, developed and refined in the following months using IBM’s Ideas Factory – a permanent innovation platform set up to further cultivate and enrich the innovation mindset within Sogeti. The company has pledged to implement the ideas with potentially the greatest business value and positive impact on clients, employees and the wider environment.
Jacques Attali will launch the online collaborative brainstorm with a live webcast at 9.40AM CET from Sogeti’s Paris headquarters. He commented; “I am delighted that Sogeti is pioneering this kind of collaborative employee interaction and that Corporate Social Responsibility will be at the heart of discussions. I passionately believe that by bringing local teams together into one global virtual team that international communication and understanding are enhanced and the quality of the innovation process is substantially improved. I have been impressed by the inventiveness of the contributions that Sogeti employees have made to the PlaNet Finance initiative over the last few years. Their direct involvement and support has meant that we have been able to extend our reach in the poorest regions.”
Eric Besson, French Minister for the Development of the Digital Economy, will be taking an interest in how social networking solutions can be used to create a momentum for collective employee creativity and contribution to a business enterprise.
Luc-François Salvador, CEO of the Sogeti Group, is personally directing this Sogeti-wide initiative: “Web 2.0 social networking technologies are opening up a wealth of opportunities to inspire, stimulate and enable collaboration on original and fresh new ideas. The challenge for business is to apply these so-called disruptive technologies, and the attitudes associated with them, to the corporate world. Sogeti is at the forefront of this new wave, and, with these networking tools, every individual within Sogeti will be an active contributor to this creative dialogue. I am sure that we will generate a wealth of real-world solutions to accelerate Sogeti’s growth as well as delivering step-change for Sogeti’s clients.”
This is new, unprecedented and exciting initiative for Sogeti. As an indicator of the importance of this initiative within the company, the Sogeti Group will be making a substantial investment, in terms of both time and resources across the company, as well assigning a significant budget to support and implement the best ideas.
