Wi-Fi TV Discusses Advertising And Fundamentals Of Its Internet TV Business In Forum At NAB Show
NAB2008

Wi-Fi TV (Pink Sheets:WTVN) outlined its vision for online video ads in the evolution of Internet TV at the NAB Show, and introduced new ad opportunities on its Social Internet TV™ platform www.Wi-FiTV.com. The Company also strongly stated its belief in the future of advertising tied to social networking.

Speaking in a public forum with industry leaders, Wi-Fi TV’s founder stated:

“Think of TV just 25 years ago and how little interactivity there was with the viewer and advertiser. Now think of IPTV and the kind of Internet TV being delivered today by Wi-Fi TV, and the tremendous level of connection with the user. From live chat sessions, to viewing that can be pinpointed by topic and program, to one click ordering and ad info gathering, and on to the next step in user involvement that is just around the corner this year, and you see this represents a complete change for advertising,” stated Alex Kanakaris, Chairman, Wi-Fi TV.

“Millions of young people, along with technically savvy professionals, all among prime ad demographics, are shifting their viewing of TV away from static TV to interactive Internet TV. The business model of Wi-Fi TV, which includes allowing a search for TV stations by topic, will now be enhanced to include a powerful online video ad engine,” Mr. Kanakaris added.

AD REVENUE FROM SOCIAL NETWORKING

“There are always going to be ups and downs in advertising and spending, but the concept of online ads tied to a social environment is the most powerful marketing concept ever. Ultimately, the type of ads pioneered by Google will now be evolved to a much greater video interactive level for Internet TV, and the revenue from these ads will supplant traditional TV ads as the leading source of revenue for video entertainment,” Mr. Kanakaris added.

WHAT IT WILL TAKE TO GAIN MARKET SHARE AND VALUE

“Our challenge at Wi-Fi TV, as a small company well positioned to deliver the next generation of TV online to a global audience, is to grow our user numbers and grow our number of exclusive stations. This will enable us to garner our share of the social network ad audience and could dramatically increase our company’s value as a potential acquisition target by the power corporate players from the Internet, cable, telecommunications and entertainment fields,” he added.

Wi-Fi TV did extensive promotion at the NAB Show, and introduced a new Feature Page design that allows Wi-Fi TV Station owners to directly control ad content that both appears on and surrounds their Wi-Fi TV Stations.
