Women in Technology Announces Finalists for Its Ninth Annual Leadership Awards

Winners to be Announced at May 15, 2008 Awards Gala
Women in Technology (WIT), the premier organization contributing to the success of professional women in the Washington technology community, is today announcing finalists for its upcoming Ninth Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards. The annual event recognizes women in the greater Washington area who have excelled in their roles as mentors, leaders and role models in the dynamic technology industry.
Maureen Bunyan, a prominent local television journalist and news anchor at WJLA-TV (ABC 7), will serve as mistress of ceremonies. The winners will be honored at a banquet and ceremony on May 15, 2008, at the Hilton McLean in Tyson’s Corner.
“Each year, the Women in Technology Leadership Awards prove to be inspiring and challenging,” Charlotte Pelliccia, president of WIT. “The accomplishments of so many women business leaders in our technology community are astounding. The challenge comes when we are forced to narrow down the field of talented nominees and select our finalists. I’m pleased to announce this year’s impressive group of finalists.”
Awards will be given in five categories: Corporate Leadership, Entrepreneur Leadership, Government Leadership, Rising Star and WIT Champion. This year’s winners of the WIT President’s Award and WIT Founder’s Award will also be announced. This year’s finalists include:
