C-TPAT Member Cargo given priority clearance during Homeland Security Advisory

Flash Global Logistics, Inc., leading global critical parts and products logistics solutions provider, met or exceeded required security measures for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. FLASH is proud to be C-TPAT certified, responsibly supporting the worldwide supply chain security initiative, and passing along benefits of membership to its client base.

C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security. Through this initiative, Customs asks businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices, and communicate their security guidelines to their business partners within the supply chain.

By meeting CBP standards, FLASH enhances the speed at which its customers can do business across borders. Cargo travels expediently, and the client’s supply chain to an end user is both secure and fast. Consider this: During a Code Red event, no shipments move in or out. Following a shift to Code Orange, C-TPAT member cargo moves first.

C-TPAT membership requires extensive examination of a company’s internal security measures. CBP agents conduct onsite validation visits to each potential member, their vendors and contractors, to verify that the supply chain meets C-TPAT standards. Achieving membership ensures that the company’s procedures are reliable, accurate and effective, compared to CBP security level and best practice criteria.
