Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Selects Accenture to Assist with Rollout of BGE’s Smart Energy Savers ProgramSM
Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE), a subsidiary of Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), has selected Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to help implement BGE’s Smart Energy Savers ProgramSM, which includes a series of initiatives designed to improve customer service, enable customers to better manage their energy costs, provide environmental benefits through energy-conservation incentives, and help avoid electric supply capacity constraints.
These initiatives will provide customers with information regarding their energy consumption and pricing and allow them to sign up for programs that help save energy during times of high energy use. The information will be provided through “smart” two-way technology, including advanced energy meters and in-home thermostats.
Under the multi-year agreement, Accenture will provide project management support that will include project plan development and execution, functional test planning and execution, quality assurance and coordination of change management and field deployment activities.
Accenture will also provide systems integration services that will include designing, building, testing and deploying the technology necessary to integrate a number of new and existing software systems to support the program.
