Lincoln Public School System Turns to Xerox for Print Overhaul

Lincoln Public School System, the second largest district in the state of Nebraska, has signed a multiyear contract with Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) to bring order and efficiency to its expansive printing operations.

A combination of new technologies and work processes, which will be rolled out over the next six months, will allow teachers to scan the materials needed for classroom work directly to the school system’s print center via advanced multifunction products from Xerox. About 250 networked Xerox WorkCentreâ„¢ Pro advanced MFPs—which print, copy, fax and scan—are being placed across the district’s 54 schools. Several high-speed Xerox DocuTechâ„¢ Production Publishers already have been installed at the centralized print center.

Once the jobs are printed, they are delivered directly to the schools by 7:30 a.m. the next day. For the first time, the schools will be able to see where their printing costs are coming from and to direct users to the printing method that costs the least. The anticipated savings will allow schools to reallocate their funds in other much-needed areas.
