First Vendor to Qualify Huawei NE80E Router for Leading Brazilian Service Provider

InfoVista (Euronext IFV – FR0004031649) , the leader in delivering proven solutions for proactive service assurance, announced qualification of the Quidway NE80E, a router from Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world. The qualifying of this device gives InfoVista a significant competitive differentiator and market advantage.

ISPM, an InfoVista channel partner, came to InfoVista with a request from Oi, the largest South American service provider, for qualification of the NE80E device from Huawei. InfoVista provided the collection and analysis of packet delay, jitter loss parameters, Central Processing Unit (CPU) and memory efficiency – qualifications essential for Huawei to provide carrier class Service Level Agreements (SLA) to its customers.

InfoVista and Huawei established a scoped, experienced team to complete the testing before the set deadline in January. In just two weeks, the team quickly worked together to qualify the device on the InfoVista platform. The qualification has proven that the Huawei NE80E device can fully satisfy its customer requirements with the jitter, latency and packet loss criterion, and establishes InfoVista as the first and only performance management vendor to qualify this device.

“NE80E plays a critical role, acting as the SLA monitoring agent in Oi’s NGN network, a complex, global network that spans China, Brazil, France, Mexico and the U.S. It was vital for Oi, our customer and Huawei to fully qualify this device,” said Peter He, director for broadband & IP network management, Huawei. “It’s our honor that our partner InfoVista, the leading service assurance vendor in the industry, gives us timely and effective support to qualify our solution based on strict criterion.”

“Our ability to qualify the NE80E for the customer’s specific needs and standard requirements demonstrates InfoVista’s superior technology and depth of knowledge in the service assurance market,” said Manuel Stopnicki, CTO, InfoVista. “This successful qualification is also a testament to our ability to work seamlessly with our hardware partners to help them qualify their key devices for production, while simultaneously positioning us as the first performance management vendor to do so.”
