HP Appoints Former Home Depot CIO to Senior IT Executive Team
HP has named Ron Griffin to lead global application development and support for the company’s Technology Solutions Group (TSG), rounding out the company’s IT leadership team. A 25-year veteran of the IT industry, Griffin joins recently named HP IT Senior Vice Presidents John Craparo, Craig Flower and Charlie McMurtry in reporting to Randy Mott, HP executive vice president and chief information officer.
Griffin, 52, joins HP after co-founding Griffin, Anderson & Co., an IT consulting firm. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president and CIO at Fleming Companies.
Previously, Griffin spent 11 years with The Home Depot, the last eight of which as senior vice president and CIO. During his tenure there, he led the IT strategy and business organization that facilitated the company’s growth from less than $3 billion to $54 billion in sales. While he was CIO, Home Depot also ranked No. 1 on Computerworld’s U.S. “Best Places to Work in IT” three times and remained in the top 20 every year.
“Ron is a seasoned CIO with a strong track record of delivering world-class IT solutions for a rapidly growing business,” said Mott. “His broad industry experience, passion for delivering IT value, and commitment to people make him an ideal leader for our TSG business.”
