Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) 9X, launched five months back by INX Media, the flagship company of the INX Network, continues to grow week on week. Both the TV viewership measurement systems of India, TAM and aMap, have confirmed that 9X is now the Number 3 Hindi GEC in the country across both demographics – C&S 15-24 and C&S 4+. This is as per Week 17/2008 data released by TAM for All India minus South, and by aMap for West, East and North.

9x is the Number 3 Hindi GEC across all key demographics and both measuring systems – aMap and TAM.
And 9XM continues to be the leader in Music Entertainment. 9XM ratings per TAM week 17 of 2008 have yet again reconfirmed that it is the Number One Music Entertainment Channel of India. The ratings are as follows: 9XM – 5; MTV – 18; Zoom – 17; Channel V – 6.
INX Media is firmly on course with its plans for 9X, which has grown steadily week on week, to reach the Number 3 position amongst Hindi GECs in both, the C&S4+ and the 15-24 yrs segments as per both measuring systems, TAM and aMap.
The channel, which has achieved these excellent ratings with just two-and-a-half hours of weekday primetime programming, can look forward to better ratings as it is set to fill up two more hours of original prime time programming in the next five months. In fact, on Monday the 28th of April, 9X added another half hour of prime time programming Mondays to Thursdays at 8 pm with the devotional program Jai Maa Vaishnodevi, produced by veteran Dheeraj Kumar’s Creative Eye Productions. The ratings of this new show will reflect in the coming weeks. And considering that there is another one and a half hours of prime time programming still to come along with more weekend programming and several mega blockbuster Hindi movies lined up, the team at 9X is confident of maintaining the channel’s healthy growth.
Says Indrani Mukerjea, Founder & CEO – INX Media, “9X, which has had one of the most successful C&S TV channel launches in the recent past, has grown steadily in ratings week on week and is firmly on course in its quest for industry leadership. In fact, the entire INX Network is surging ahead – 9X is the Number 3 GEC across both measuring systems (TAM and aMap, across both key demographics); 9XM is India’s Number One Music Entertainment Channel by far; INX News’ premier English News Channel, NewsX — which is also India’s first HDTV-ready news channel — has completed one month earlier this week, and from Monday, the 28th of April, 9X soft-launched in the UK on EPG 832 with four hours of programming to begin with. These initiatives will fuel greater network growth.”
