Cayenne Sales Up 23 Percent
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States, today announced April new-car sales of 2,863 in the United States, representing a 5% decrease from April 2007 sales of 3,015.
Continuing to perform well was Porsche’s popular Cayenne series. Sales for the high-end SUV reached 1,218, an increase of 23% over April 2007 when sales were 993. Year-to-date Cayenne sales were up 14%. The recently introduced Cayenne GTS model continues to show strong market appeal with sales of 443.
Boxster sales also saw an increase of 8% over the same period last year, with sales for Porsche’s venerable mid-engine roadster rising from 325 to 352.
For the year, sales of Porsches in the U.S. were 9,640 versus 11,244 last year.
In a record-setting month, dealers sold 691 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned cars in April vs. 548 for the same period last year.
