Free Video Training for Bloggers
General Press Releases May 11th, 2008
Bloggers looking for help with the WordPress publishing system have a new resource they can turn to at WordPressTraining.com. The site features the most complete and comprehensive collection of WordPress training videos available anywhere. Best of all, the training is being offered at no cost.
The web-based video tutorials cover every aspect of the WordPress administrative system, as well as a range of issues related to installing, upgrading, and maintaining WordPress. The videos were recently updated to support the new WordPress version 2.5.
The training site is the work of Kirk Biglione, a web strategist and blogger. Biglione’s firm, Oxford Media Works, advises clients on a range of issues related to web and social media strategies. According to Biglione, he initially created the training series as a resource for clients who have begun blogging as a way to engage their own customers.
By providing bloggers with a comprehensive and modular training resource, Biglione hopes to minimize the tech-angst that often scares business professionals away from blogging. Biglione explains, “When used properly, blogs are an incredibly effective marketing and communications tool for businesses. The problem is that many business bloggers spend an inordinate amount of time focused on the technical aspects of blogging, and not nearly enough time engaging their readers in meaningful conversations. As a result, the technical details often drown out the strategic opportunities.”
