Sony launches W30 and W50 digital cameras
The W30 and W50 are new additions to Sony’s Cyber-shot range with enhanced battery life and Carl Zeiss optics.
Both cameras feature a 6MP Sony Super HAD CCD and a 3x optical Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens. The main difference between the cameras is the LCD size; the W30’s is 2in and the W50’s is 2.5in.
Incorporated into both cameras is High Sensitivity Anti-Blur technology, which is designed to reduce the effect of camera shake that can occur when shooting in low light without a flash. To combat an increase in noise, which can occur when high ISO settings are used, Sony has included a Clear RAW NR feature to reduce the effect of colour and luminance noise.
Seven pre-set scene modes feature on both cameras including: Twilight, Landscape, Soft snap and Beach.
The new Play button allows users to check images quickly. Power is supplied by a lithium-ion battery incorporating Sony STAMINA technology, enabling the W30 and W50 to respectively capture 400 and 390 shots from a single charge.
Pictures can be stored on the camera’s 32MB internal memory or on Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo cards.
Sony has yet to announce a price for either camera. Find out more at www.sony.co.uk or by calling 08705 11199.
