Steve Sawyer Named as Vice President of Business Development

Quova, Inc., the leading provider of Internet geolocation data and services, today announced that it has appointed Steve Sawyer as Vice President of Business Development, EMEA. Bringing extensive knowledge of Internet B2B operations, Sawyer will manage Quova’s European business development and sales organizations, and will also be responsible for building Quova’s partner channel within the region.

“The European market is very important for Quova as online organisations are seeing the advantages of accurate IP geolocation data to not only help to detect card-not-present fraud and comply with local laws, but also to help companies with their marketing and behavioral targeting initiatives,” said Marie Alexander, CEO, Quova. “Steve brings 25 years of business development to the table with six years worth of experience within Quova itself. We are very pleased to be able to offer Steve the opportunity to drive sales through both new and established partners and really fortify our business in the EMEA region.”

Prior to joining Quova, Sawyer held a variety of IT business development and sales roles in the UK region. As Business Developer for Acequote, Sawyer developed the B2B sales operation within a Europe wide strategy that experienced month on month growth exceeding 20%. He also previously held the position as a business consultant for Business in Focus, one of Wales’ leading providers of comprehensive business support services, and was responsible for the guidance and mentoring of new businesses, focusing on Internet/technology and sales driven programmes.

Sawyer will be responsible for maintaining the customer relationships already built up in the continent. Quova’s EMEA customers and partners include major broadcasters such as BBC, Sky TV, Channel 4 and RAINet who use Quova’s IP geolocation data to manage digital content distribution; ClearSale, ClickandBuy, GlobalCollect, and WiredMinds who use IP geolocation to help detect identify theft and card-not-present fraud; and RealMedia 24/7, SMART AdServer, and The Yoox Group, who use Quova’s data to localize their Web content and advertising. As well as a number of gaming operators including Wagerworks and Ladbrokes who leverage the data to restrict illegal online bettors. Sawyer’s role is effective immediately and he will be based in the UK with regular European travel.
