GoDaddy.com Revs Up Sponsorship Just in Time for Indy 500
The world’s most popular Web address provider is extending its relationship with IndyCar’s most popular driver … and adding something special for this year’s Indianapolis 500. Hours before the legendary race, GoDaddy.com has announced Danica Patrick will be a Go Daddy Girl through 2009 and as part of the deal, Danica’s IndyCar will sport an even bigger GoDaddy.com logo at Indy.
The company renewed its commitment with Andretti Green Racing and the sports celebrity well before the deadline, saying there was never any doubt about what Danica does for GoDaddy.com.
“No other celebrity brings it all to the table like Danica,” said GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “She’s a class act. She’s a winner. She’s fast. She’s focused. She’s smart. Danica personifies all the things GoDaddy.com is about.”
GoDaddy.com is known for being the top choice in domain names and is nearly three times the size of its closest competitor. GoDaddy.com also is one of the world’s top companies for Web hosting and SSL Certificates, which provide online security. GoDaddy.com has a reputation in advertising too, known for its racy Super Bowl commercials – two of which have featured Danica Patrick.
The racy Go Daddy Girl has been a global media sensation since winning the Indy Japan 300 last month, but Parsons recognized Danica Patrick’s star power even before signing her in 2006.
“Bob Parsons and Go Daddy have been there for me for years, and I think it’s safe to say we are all very excited to deepen the relationship,” Danica said.
Danica starts this year’s Indy 500 in the fifth position (second row middle) and has been named as one of the drivers in contention for the checkered flag at Sunday’s big race. She made history at Indy back in 2005 when she led the race for 19 laps and was voted the league’s Rookie of the Year that same year.
2008 has also been a big year for Danica off the track. She is Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Award Winner for Favorite Female Athlete and also landed on Maxim magazine’s “Hot 100″ list for the second consecutive year. She also posed for the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated and was featured on the magazine’s cover just this month.
Millions are expected to tune in to watch Danica in Sunday’s race. GoDaddy.com is proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Indianapolis 500 broadcast on ABC TV again this year. As part of the deal, GoDaddy.com will have its iconic branding on everything from broadcast segments to aerial and in-car views.
