Jamba, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile entertainment, announced today that Kaj Hagros will join the company as Chief Operating Officer in the beginning of July. He will replace Lee Fenton, who has decided to return to London at the end of June to pursue other opportunities and join his family on a full-time basis.

Mr. Hagros, who most recently served as Vice President, Market Development for Airwide Solutions, will be responsible for developing and executing Jamba’s product, technology and content strategies. He will be based in Berlin and will be report to Mauro Montanaro, Jamba’s CEO.

Jamba, a joint venture between News Corporation (NYSE: NWS, NWS.A) and VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN) serves 35 territories around the world with a wide array of mobile products and services. It also houses the assets of Fox Mobile Entertainment.

“Kaj’s unique combination of technical expertise, global insight and holistic business management experience will no doubt make him an asset to Jamba as we continue to expand our business,” said Mauro Montanaro, Jamba’s CEO. “We’re very excited he has decided to help us achieve our goal of introducing a world-class mobile entertainment experience to the burgeoning mobile market.”

Commenting on Fenton’s departure, Montanaro said: “Lee has been an invaluable asset to Jamba and a driving force behind the tremendous success the company has experienced to date. His dedicated leadership and vision have helped put Jamba in a position to have a powerful impact on the business of mobile entertainment, and we’re grateful for his many important contributions.”

Mr. Hagros began his mobile career in 1997 when he joined cell phone giant Nokia. After Nokia, he spent a number of years in various leadership positions at First Hop, where he was also responsible for establishing the company’s first Asia-Pacific unit, based in Singapore. Last year, First Hop was acquired by Airwide and Mr. Hagros took over that company’s strategic market expansion initiatives.
