IBM Named 2005 CRN Channel Champion

IBM was named a 2005 CRN Channel Champion in 11 categories and selected as the Overall Channel Criteria Champion at an awards ceremony in New Orleans on March 8. The CRN Channel Champion’s award program, now in its 15th year, is sponsored by CMP Media’s CRN, provider of vital information for VARs and technology integrators.

IBM earned top honors in Notebooks, Advanced Desktops & Workstations, Databases (tie), Application Integration Middleware, Systems & Network Management, Storage Management Software, Storage Area Network Arrays, Network Attached Storage Appliances, Storage Backup Subsystems, Low End Servers and High End Servers. The IBM product families represented by these winning awards include ThinkPad*, ThinkCentre*, DB2*, WebSphere*, Tivoli*, TotalStorage*, and eServer* xSeries*, iSeries* and pSeries*. IBM won the Overall Channel Criteria Champion award for having the highest average channel satisfaction scores in the survey.

The CRN Channel Champions study measures overall business and technology integrator perceptions of vendor products and services in 28 categories. The survey is the largest and broadest-based technology integrator market study in the industry. “The CRN Channel Champions study is a premier resource for solution providers to use throughout the year to evaluate vendors and programs,” said Dan Dignam, publisher, CRN. “IBM has demonstrated that it delivers high quality solutions and has many satisfied business partners.”

“We are honored that the solution provider community selected IBM to win a record number of Channel Champion awards,” said Donn Atkins, general manager, IBM Global Business Partners. “Business Partners have told us that consistency and predictability are essential to help them run successful businesses, and that’s what IBM’s PartnerWorld program delivers. We will continue to use the feedback they give us to build upon our strengths, enhance our capabilities, and offer the best Business Partner program in the industry.”
