London, UK – Stonewood Electronics Ltd, the leading designer and manufacturer of encrypted hard drives, announced that it has received ISO 9001: 2000 recertification, as a result of Stonewood’s dedication to quality and excellent management performance. ISO 9001: 2000 certification, an internationally recognized quality management system standard, was created by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

In addition to passing the audit to achieve ISO recertification, Stonewood received TickIT (version 5.5) accreditation, specifically for its work in software development. The TickIT audit works as a companion procedure to ensure that software quality meets the ISO 9001 standards. The use of TickIT will aid Stonewood to continue using a quality system that regulates the business processes involved in the software product lifecycle.

“The ISO certification affirms our commitment to continued improvement and to providing our customers with the highest quality products and solutions,” said Stonewood CEO, Brendan Forster. “We have achieved this goal due to the immense dedication and knowledge of our employees.”

Stonewood, best known for its Flagstone data encryption hard drives, which have received NATO approval and are used by government and the largest banking, financial and medical corporations, has recently announced the launch of its Eclypt range, the next generation of the FlagStone family of hardware-encrypted drives. Eclypt offers a real alternative to businesses that would normally look to data protection software providers for the protection of their data.

Eclypt drives require no maintenance, are free from renewable licence fees and call for no specialist IT knowledge or training. Unlike software-based encryption solutions, the Eclypt family is a completely tamper-proof and tamper-evident range of hard disk drives that protects data at rest, even if the device is stolen or lost. Flagstone technology integrates sophisticated authentication, entire disk encryption and data storage into tamper-resistant hardware that safeguards data, providing instant data protection with no adverse effects on the computer’s performance.
