Career Spans IBM and GE with Global Responsibilities for Growth and Expansion

iMarkup Solutions, Inc., a provider of web-based business process automation and reporting solutions for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Edward Skiko as CEO and Chairman. Skiko assumes the position upon the passing of John O’Brien, iMarkup’s President and founder. Previously Skiko served as a member of the Board of Directors and was an initial investor in the company.

Skiko’s career spans technical, managerial and executive positions at IBM and General Electric. His last assignment at IBM was as Vice President of the Printer Business with worldwide responsibility for strategic planning, profitability, product development and manufacturing. At GE as its Corporate Vice-President of Information Technology, Skiko had global responsibility for the company’s voice and data networks and data centers – as well as directing the Information Systems organizations within all GE business units. Skiko earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College also in Electrical Engineering.

According to Jim Brush, VP of Sales and Marketing, “From its inception Ed has been involved in helping to guide iMarkup’s strategy as we evolved from end user annotation tools to robust and scalable enterprise products. His guidance has been invaluable.”

That guidance is evident in iMarkup’s sales growth. A significant factor in this growth has been the acceptance of the company’s workflow engine and its automated review and approval functionality. These capabilities enable customers like Johnson & Johnson, the National Institute of Mental Health, NuVasive, NORESCO and Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc., to deploy iMarkup while mirroring their existing business processes.

“John O’Brien was a visionary business leader. His passing is a great loss to all who knew and worked with him,” stated Skiko. “The company will strive to build on his legacy of delivering superior products and customer service. We will aggressively introduce new products, expand our customer and partner base, and never lose sight of our responsibility to our loyal customers.”
