SpeechTEK 2008

The speech technology industry’s annual SpeechTEK Conference and Exposition will once again co-locate with destinationCRM at New York’s Marriott Marquis in Times Square this August 18 – 20.

SpeechTEK and destinationCRM focus on the latest trends and innovations in speech technology and customer relations management. SpeechTEK is the world’s largest conference dedicated exclusively to speech technology applications. destinationCRM is designed for CRM executives and professionals involved in purchasing decisions.

Now in its 14th year, SpeechTEK provides an annual meeting place where executives and managers and speech technology practitioners can participate in a comprehensive examination of the state of the industry.

The conference portion of SpeechTEK will consist of sixty seminars and demonstrations covering every aspect of automated voice applications. Executives and managers, project planners, speech application developers and voice user interface designers regularly attend SpeechTEK to keep up with the trends and innovations.

The SpeechTEK/destinationCRM Expo is a 23,000 square foot showcase of the latest technologies and applications in speech technology, particularly those that are being used in business to facilitate customer relations and improve efficiency.

Meeting Business Goals with Speech Technology is one of four learning tracks designed to address specific areas of interest executives and managers face when considering speech applications. Financial services, retail, health care insurance, automotive, telecommunications, and government are among the areas that will be the focus of case studies presented by corporate decision-makers who have experience selecting, implementing and using speech technologies.

Dr. James A. Larson, vice president of Larson Technical Services and Susan L. Hura, principal, SpeechUsability, are the conference co-chairs for SpeechTEK. “SpeechTEK can help organizations through the process of determining how speech technology can best be used to improve their performance and save money,” says Dr. Larson. “The question for most businesses today is not whether or not to implement speech, but how to do it in a way that produces the best results.”
