Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) led all financial services firms on Barron’s “Top 100 Women Financial Advisers” list again this year, with 22 in the rankings.
Among the top 10, and returning to the list from last year, are Saly Glassman, an advisor in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, at No. 1; Lorna Meyer of San Francisco at No. 7 and Patricia Bell of Short Hills, New Jersey, at No. 8.
“We are very proud that Barron’s has recognized 22 of our advisors,” said Bob McCann, president of Global Wealth Management. “It underscores the extraordinary work these advisors do everyday in delivering for clients, and is a testament to the depth of talent across our advisory force.”
The No. 1-ranked Saly Glassman was featured in an article describing the diverse ways in which women financial advisors decided on a career in financial services and how they have helped their clients navigate through the current environment.
Ms. Glassman told the publication that, through the recent market downturn, her time has been spent reassuring her clients and helping them focus on their long term goals instead of worrying about short term volatility. “When you keep a client out of trouble and deliver reliable returns, those are the periods when you distinguish yourself,” she said.
