Symantec Named CRN Channel Champion For Fourth Consecutive Year

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Symantec triumphed in the 2005 CRN Channel Champions survey, earning six CRN Channel Champion awards across the three security categories including Antivirus, Antispam, and Network Infrastructure Security.

Symantec swept the Antivirus product category, earning the Technical, Channel, and Overall Champion awards. Additionally, Symantec earned the Technical and Overall Champion awards in the Antispam product category, as well as the Channel Champion award in the Network Infrastructure Security product category.

In earning Technical Champion designations, solution providers noted the product reliability, price/performance, and management features of Symantec solutions. Additionally, solution providers recognized the Symantec Partner Program for its sales margins, upselling opportunities, and Symantec’s responsiveness to solution provider feedback on its channel program.

“The fact that Symantec’s partners themselves recognized the value of our solutions and partner program speaks volumes to the true commitment Symantec has to the channel and the resources we put forth to ensure our partners’ success in the marketplace,” said Randy Cochran, Symantec’s vice president of Americas Channel Sales. “Symantec looks forward to working alongside its partners to address the information security and availability needs of individuals and businesses in an increasingly complex and constantly evolving threat landscape.”

“The CRN Channel Champions study is a premier resource for solution providers to use throughout the year to evaluate vendors and programs,” said Dan Dignam, publisher, CRN. “Congratulations to Symantec. They have demonstrated that they deliver high quality solutions and have many satisfied business partners.”
