Webinar to Highlight Deficiencies in Today’s Security Infrastructures and How Network Monitoring and Alerting Can Improve Organizations Overall Security Posture

NetWitness Corporation, the leading provider of next generation network security monitoring and active threat intelligence software, announced today it will host a Webcast titled “Finding and Stopping the Invisible Threats” on June 25, 2008 at 2pm EDT.

Moderated by SC Magazine online editor, Charles Miller, this complimentary Webcast provides information on why current security infrastructures cannot help detect some of the more difficult and complex network security problems. Veteran security expert Eddie Schwartz, CSO of NetWitness Corporation, will discuss the ways organizations can solve these network security problems by implementing a next generation network monitoring infrastructure and a layer of alerting and threat intelligence applications to detect invisible network threats such as designer malware, botnet communications, and policy evasion technologies. The Webcast also will show how to improve the value of current security monitoring investments by augmenting existing alerts with rich session analysis information.

This Webcast will provide two case studies, one from a top-ten financial institution and the other from a large government agency; both facing complex and invisible security threats on a daily basis. Schwartz will discuss problems such as drive-by exploitation of end user workstations due to malicious IFRAMES injected into legitimate web pages via SQL injection attacks, misuse of standard ports for data exfiltration and other command and control traffic, malicious JavaScript obfuscation, and other difficult to detect techniques. These cases are real, and are just two examples of the kinds of threats organizations are dealing with today that can lead to losses of millions of dollars, personal identities, years of research and priceless classified records.

During the Webcast, Schwartz will review what is critically at stake for companies in each of these cases, and how the two organizations solved these tough network security problems by implementing NetWitness’ extensible NextGen monitoring infrastructure and highly customizable analytic and alerting applications.

What: A complementary Webcast where attendees will learn how to effectively find invisible threats on their network and stop them from reoccurring.
