Intel Honors 17 Companies With Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award

Intel Corporation today announced the 17 winners of its Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) Award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence in 2004. The SCQI, the company’s most prestigious award for suppliers, recognizes companies that provided products and services deemed essential to Intel’s business success. This select group will be honored at a ceremony in Burlingame, Calif. on March 15.

The 2004 SCQI winners are: Asymtek, a Nordson Company; Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Delta Design; Disco Corporation; Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc.; Mitsui Chemicals Inc.; Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Nichicon Corporation; NTK, a division of NGK Spark Plug Co., Ltd.; Securitas; Senju Metal Industry Co.; Ltd. (SMIC); Shinko Electric Industries Co., Ltd.; Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corporation; TDK Corporation; Tektronix, Inc.; TOK; Tokyo Electron Limited.

“I am proud of the continued success of our suppliers and their ability to respond to our demanding quality expectations,” said Robert J. Baker, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group. “The suppliers we are recognizing are role models for other companies in the areas of cost, technology, innovation and customer service. They truly represent the ‘best of the best.’”

“Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement award winners achieved the highest levels of performance among more than 12,000 suppliers,” said Sunlin Chou, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group. “We are pleased to recognize the vital role that these suppliers played in enabling Intel to meet our customers’ requirements. We congratulate and thank the award winners for their accomplishments and on-going commitment to excellence.”

The SCQI awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel’s suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must achieve at least a 95 percent rating in a variety of areas that assess performance and the ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technological and responsiveness goals.
