Time Warner Cable Names Steven Teplitz Senior Vice President, Government Relations

Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) today announced that Steven Teplitz will join the company as Senior Vice President, Government Relations. He will report to Gail MacKinnon, Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer. Teplitz will be based in the company’s Washington, D.C., public policy office, where he will oversee Time Warner Cable’s federal legislative, regulatory and external affairs.
“Steven’s extensive experience with and knowledge of the company, the cable industry and the regulatory and legislative issues facing our business make him the perfect person to help me lead TWC’s public policy efforts,” MacKinnon said. “We are fortunate to have his knowledge and expertise at Time Warner Cable.”
Teplitz is currently Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Time Warner Inc., where he is responsible for communications policy and regulatory affairs. He works closely with Time Warner business units including HBO, Time Warner Cable, Turner, and AOL, which he joined in 1997 in the company’s legal department. Previously, he was an attorney in the Federal Communications Commission’s Common Carrier Bureau. Prior to the FCC, Teplitz was an attorney in private practice and represented cable operators and wireless carriers. From 1991 to 1993, he was a legislative assistant to former U.S. Senator Conrad Burns.
Teplitz is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and served on the FCBA Foundation Board. He currently serves as a member of The Media Institute’s Board of Trustees. Teplitz received a B.A. in government, with honors, from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and received a law degree, also with honors, from the George Washington University National Law Center.
