OneLink Communications Will Launch GolTV on July 1 to its Digital Basic Customers

GolTV, the only live bilingual channel delivering 24/7 soccer, will launch on July 1 on OneLink Communications, the largest cable operator in Puerto Rico, as part of its Digital Basic channel lineup.

“GolTV delivers exactly what thousands of our subscribers want–non-stop soccer action and in-depth coverage of the best fútbol teams in the world,” said Ron Dorchester, CEO of OneLink Communications. “With the network’s upcoming coverage of the road to the 2010 World Cup, GolTV is sure to be an immediate hit with our viewers.”

The network is revving up for the 2010 World Cup with exclusive US coverage of qualifying matches for the German, Italian and Spanish national teams. GolTV will also feature highlights and news from around the globe in 2010 Report, a weekly program devoted to bringing the best World Cup soccer action to GolTV viewers.

“Because our Spanish-language channel continually ranks very high among Hispanic cable networks, OneLink saw tremendous value in placing us on digital basic,” said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV. “Soccer has more participants than any other sport in the Americas as well as a huge fan base. Cable operators are taking note of the opportunities that lie within all-soccer programming as well as the audience that consistently tunes-in to GolTV’s in-depth soccer coverage.”

In addition to 2010 Report, GolTV announced a third-quarter programming lineup chock-full of new original content including Soccer Cam, a show that makes fans the stars by featuring user-submitted highlight videos; Fantasy Goal, a multi-platform program that brings viewers into the action with their own fantasy soccer teams; and, Kings of Clubs, a 10-part documentary-style series that takes viewers behind the scenes of the world’s most prestigious club teams.

Ranked among the top three Hispanic networks in the first quarter of 2008, many of the most-watched soccer matches in Spanish-language cable households are shown only on GolTV.
