SmartMusic subscribers exceed 95,500
MakeMusic, Inc. (Nasdaq: MMUS) today announced monthly subscription results for SmartMusic®, the music learning software for band, orchestra and choir. SmartMusic subscriptions as of June month-end numbered 95,632, representing a net gain of 1,363 over the previous month. Additionally, at the end of June, 97 schools or districts had joined SmartMusic’s site subscription program, compared to 71 at the end of May.
SmartMusic Impact™, the web-based student grading and records management system included with SmartMusic, also showed growth. Impact teachers reached 538 at the end of June, compared with 536 at the end of May. This is an annual statistic, counting only teachers who have issued assignments to 50 or more students this school year. Therefore the number of Impact teachers will restart at zero on July 1, 2008. A comparison to prior year statistics will be provided in future releases.
Finally, the number of SmartMusic Educator accounts was 8,165, compared to 8,218 at the end of May, a decrease of 53 accounts, due to the seasonality of the education market.
