Pendragon, the publishers of Perspective, the electronic information service for the UK pensions industry, has extended its annual Art of Pensions competition to include online voting at the competition’s website, www.artofpensions.co.uk
The Art of Pensions 2008 competition entries will, as usual, be exhibited on Pendragon’s stand at the annual NAPF Annual Conference & Exhibition, which this year takes place in Glasgow from 8th – 10th October. Those who are unable to be in Glasgow can, for the first time, also cast their vote on the Art of Pensions website, where all the entries will be on display throughout October.
Pendragon Managing Director Simon Freeman commented: “The Art of Pensions competition is now in its sixth year. With Art of Pensions attracting such interest from our colleagues throughout the pensions industry, it seemed only fair that winners should be chosen by the widest possible audience.”
Art of Pensions attracts a wide range of serious and humorous entries expressed in everything from doodles and cartoons to sketches and pure text. For example, Stuart Riley, last year’s winner (see attached), offered a very witty take on the possible reaction of the monarch to the prospect of a mandatory retirement age.
Requests for competition entry cards can be made online at the Art of Pensions website. The deadline for receipt of entries by Pendragon is Friday 19th September.

Editor’s notes:
1. The format for the Art of Pensions 2008 competition is unchanged. Entrants receive an entry pack containing two blank postcards and a return envelope. They use the blank space to make a written statement or a colourful illustration. The only limitation is that it fits in the frame and that it relates to pensions. It might raise a serious issue or be quite frivolous. What they choose to say and exactly how they say it is entirely up to the entrants.
2. As in previous years, Pendragon will make a charitable donation for each entry received and will present awards to the most thought-provoking, humorous and original entries.
3. The Art of Pensions 2008 competition rules are on its website www.artofpensions.co.uk
