New Delhi, July 14, 2008 :BT today announced that it has been awarded Global Certification from Cisco. BT is only the fourth company to have earned Cisco’s Global Certification status. To gain Global Certification, BT met the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support highly sophisticated Cisco solutions worldwide.
Global Certification recognizes Cisco partners with expertise and resources to plan, design, implement and operate Cisco networking solutions across the globe. For BT, achieving global certification builds on its existing base of multi-national and individual country certifications in meeting the stringent requirements in the areas of contracting, procurement, security, and business continuity. This achievement reflects BT’s focus on maintaining best practices across all areas of its business.
Edison Peres, senior vice president for worldwide channels at Cisco, said: “As the network becomes the platform for fostering communications and innovation, many customers across geographic areas are demanding both an enhanced set of skills and capabilities and the ability to do business in more than one country. By expanding the geographic scope of its existing Cisco specializations in unified communications, routing and switching, security and wireless, BT is furthering its rank among the industry’s elite.”
Allen Ma, president of BT Asia Pacific, said: “This major achievement recognizes the growth of our capabilities with Cisco and is good news for our customers. Global certification allows us to deploy Cisco solutions to our customers wherever in the world they do business. BT is committed to delivering world class solutions to customers, and this accreditation further compliments BT’s market-leading global footprint.”
While Cisco Select, Premier, Silver and Gold Certifications recognize expertise within a single country, the Global Certification recognizes partners who have extended this expertise across multiple geographic regions. To achieve Global Certification, a channel partner must demonstrate its abilities to provide contracting, procurement, security and business continuity services across all continental regions around the world.
BT continues to expand its global capabilities to serve customers around the world. BT provides the global connectivity to help multi-site organizations communicate and collaborate, any time, any place, through any device. BT strives to be the customers’ partner of choice for creative, valued and reliable communication services and solutions.
