Symantec Offers Webcast Highlighting Findings of the Latest Internet Security Threat Report

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced it will host a webcast presenting the findings of its ninth semiannual Internet Security Threat Report. The webcast, led by Dean Turner, executive editor of the report, will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. PST. The webcast will provide IT managers responsible for strategic security decisions and policy setting with an in-depth look at security issues affecting global business.

By understanding the key findings of the report, webcast attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the state of overall Internet threats, what the threats mean to their organizations, and what might be expected in the future. Symantec’s latest Internet Security Threat Report, http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/threatreport/ issued today, covers the six-month period from July 1 – December 31, 2005 and includes analysis of network-based attacks, a review of known vulnerabilities, highlights of adware, spyware, and malicious code, an analysis of spam and phishing data along with a forward looking analysis. The report is based on Symantec data collected from more than 40,000 security devices deployed in more than 180 countries.
