Syndication Deal Brings Political Depth to www.friction.tv & provides user generated video content to www.ePolitix.com
London, England July 15th 2008 – www.friction.tv, the online speakers corner and parliamentary website www.ePolitix.com have agreed a two-way syndication deal to share news feeds, political analysis and online video debating. The partnership will broaden the audience for ePolitix’s wide ranging coverage of the UK political scene by tapping into Friction.tv’s growing base of 600,000 monthly visitors.
Under the terms of the deal, Friciton.tv is streaming an ePolitix news feed on its political channel home page and is offering up branded ePolitix news articles within the Friction.tv website as stimulus for visitors to speak their mind on the politics of the day. Videos uploaded in response to a news article from ePolitix are automatically posted into a co-branded ePolitix channel at www.friction.tv/epolitix. Content from here is available for use by ePolitix on its site when appropriate.
Andy West, co-founder and Head of Partnerships and Content at Friction.tv commented: “Although Politics is among the most heavily debated topics on the site, we find that much goes unnoticed simply because people are often unaware on what’s going on in Westminster. ePolitix has always been totally focused on reporting on the UK political agenda and so its news feeds and analysis are a great resource for our politically hungry audience.
We intend to announce a series of syndication deals with major news organisations over the coming weeks as we provide more and more stimulus material to our growing worldwide audience” added West.
Daniel Forman, Editor of ePolitix.com, commented: “I am delighted to be pushing ePolitix content out to such a wide audience as Friction.tv, and to give readers the chance to respond via video, improving the interactivity of our site. We also hope to use the partnership with Friction to host our own video content and give MPs a further platform to communicate their views.”
