Oberon Media’s multi-platform strategy allows publishing division I-play to deliver huge hits where, when and however gamers want to play
I-play, the publishing division of casual games powerhouse Oberon Media, is emerging as a unique and powerful publisher of content across multiple platforms in the exploding casual games market. By delivering hugely successful titles across several key platforms including James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club – Death in Scarlet for the PC, Endemol’s Deal or No Deal for mobile devices, and the Facebook and MySpace phenomenon Bubble Town, I-play is successfully leveraging Oberon Media’s promise of reaching “more people, in more places and on more platforms.”
“We are thrilled that our content is resonating so well with such a wide variety of casual gamers,” said Don Ryan, Oberon’s COO and head of I-play. “The numbers we’re seeing for Women’s Murder Club are blowing away all of our projections, and Facebook and MySpace users are making Bubble Town one of the most popular applications on these massive social networks.”
“We’ve been very pleased with both the Women’s Murder Club game and the sales it has generated to date,” Steve Bowen, president of James Patterson Entertainment said. “I-play did a great job capturing the essence of the Women’s Murder Club franchise and the fans seem to be showing their approval.”
I-play’s Bubble Town, a simple but uniquely addictive puzzle game, has become a surprise phenomenon on the two most popular social networks, Facebook and MySpace (the game is still known as Scrubbles on MySpace). The game has quickly become the top game on MySpace as well as the highest ranked and #2 most actively used application on Facebook, reached 200,000 daily users and growing.
Additionally, I-play was recently chosen by Apple as a key launch partner for iPhone games, released the mobile phone game for Universal Pictures’ Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie, and on July 24 releases the latest game in its successful Dream Day series, Dream Day Wedding: Married in Manhattan. The three games in the Dream Day series have combined for over 50 million downloads to date.
