Search Engine Strategies San Jose 2008
Search engine marketers, advertisers, webmasters, executive decision makers, and e-commerce professionals are lining up for this year’s Search Engine Strategies (SES) San Jose conference, which affords delegates the largest learning and networking opportunity of the year in Silicon Valley. Over 70 sessions and keynotes will cover everything that is search related from August 18-20, 2008, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Nearly 90% of the sessions are new to the agenda, yet two essential staples in the SES formula for success are the Orion Panels, featuring many of the industry’s favorite luminaries together at one table.
The first Orion Keynote Panel, How Much Search is Enough?, will evaluate strategic thought processes and tactical execution with thought leaders from the search engine marketing, advertising agency and advertiser perspectives. Robert Murray, President of iProspect; Aaron Goldman, VP of Marketing & Strategic Partnerships for Resolution Media; Steven Kaufman, Senior Vice President and Media Director for Digitas; and Bob Tripathi, Search Marketing Strategist with Discover Financial Services, will shine a light on how search can be “carved out” from an overall budget and how this tactical fit will lead online marketing to create a truly holistic marketing strategy.
In Orion Keynote Panel: Technical & Information Giants, media, marketing, and internet rock stars will discuss how the past will shape our future. Panelists will attempt to answer some of the biggest questions in search, such as what the most important changes are in the space that marketers should be aware of and how decisions made today will affect marketing and communication efforts in the future. Matt Cutts, software engineer guru at Google, is joined by Danny Sullivan, Editor-in-Chief of Search Engine Land; Robert Scoble, managing director of FastCompany.TV; and Tim Westergren, Founder of Pandora, to examine how internet-based technologies have shaped the way we seek, collect and share information.
The SES series each year enhances the conference experience and this year’s Orion Panelists are no exception. “We’re forever looking to raise the bar on the caliber of speakers and sessions,” said Kevin Ryan, VP of Global Content for Search Engine Strategies and SearchEngineWatch.com. “SES seeks to encourage the online marketing industry to think outside our safe search box to truly understand where we fit as part of the larger marketing spectrum. Big businesses and small businesses alike are struggling with this delicate balance, and this year’s panelists will enlighten our attendees to help them with their efforts.”
