PRAGUE — The Second Annual Entertainment Supply Chain Academy Europe conference has been scheduled for October 2-3, 2008 at the Hotel Dorint Don Giovanni in Prague, Czech Republic. Dr. Gerd Wolfram, Managing Director of MGI METRO Group Information Technology GmbH, will be presenting the keynote address.
Last year over 200 senior executives from the world of content, replication, distribution and retail gathered together in Madrid, Spain, to maximize efficiencies in the delivery of physical and digital content. This year’s must-attend conference, created by leaders in the worldwide home entertainment supply chain, is produced in association with DEG: the Digital Entertainment Group, by Martin Porter Associates and Futuresource Consulting. Since mid-2002 Dr. Wolfram has been managing one of the most innovative projects in the worldwide retail community: the METRO Group Future Store Initiative, testing advanced technologies and systems under real-life conditions. He is responsible for the selection and implementation of new IT innovations, alignment of the IT with the METRO Group’s corporate goals and the procurement of hardware and software as well as IT services for the company. Wolfram is also a member of national and international committees which promote the standardisation of logistics and merchandise management processes in retail in the context of radio frequency identification (RFID).
