BRACKNELL, UK, July 31st, 2008 - Webroot, a leading security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, today announced that it has expanded its security client portfolio. Trader Media Group, one of Europe’s largest specialist media publishers, has joined the growing number of companies who rely on Webroot’s expertise in security by adopting Webroot® AntiSpyware Corporate Edition.

Trader Media Group is a publisher of 70 leading classified titles, such as the vehicle pricing guide Auto Trader, and runs a selection of popular and profitable websites. It also provides innovative new online data services and its rapid growth has made it one of the largest conventional and online printing and publishing groups of its kind.

Trader Media Group opted for Webroot following a 2-week test-period across its 2200 PC-user business in the UK and Ireland which included the assessment of two other solutions.

Russell Warman, Operations Manager, Trader Media Group says, “We had identified an increase in the number of helpdesk calls generated through spyware. We instantly responded to the issue by assessing the problem and confirming that spyware was the main concern. Our research led us to a dedicated, best-of-breed solution in Webroot AntiSpyware Corporate Edition.”

Trader Media Group chose Webroot for its ability to co-exist with existing applications and essential in-house systems and for its highly effective spyware filtering. Not only did its effectiveness reduce the chances of spyware infecting the Trader Media network and PCs, but it also enables the company’s twenty-two individual sites to be centrally managed from one location with limited manual interference.

Warman continues, “Centralised management is key. Webroot AntiSpyware Corporate Edition remotely updates all PCs from a centrally managed console which also provides a comprehensive overview of the spyware threat and status of each PC. Updates are made without any interaction with the end user’s desktop, giving us a real ease of management.”

Nick Banks, Managing Director, Webroot says, “Spyware has taken over as the main form of malicious attack. Webroot’s Threat Research Center is finding hundreds of individual new threats every day. The development of spyware has meant that companies like Trader Media Group turn to experts such as Webroot to give the best advice. I am delighted that Trader Media has found the experience of tackling spyware a quick, efficient and, ultimately, effective one.”
