Funchain: Blogging + Social Networking Hybrid Launched

Funchain, a blogging tool, has just been relaunched with a powerful social networking engine. Dubbed the “blogging + social networking” hybrid, the blogging tool now features social networking features currently popular with services such as MySpace, Friendster and Tribe.

Blog services of social networks such as MySpace lack the functionality of a true blogging tool, like Funchain, Blogger and Wordpress, and are usually added on as an afterthought. Social network blog sites look boxy, sport the brand of the social network site, and offer little personalization.

Unlike these services, Funchain is primarily a blogging tool. It allows users to customize their blogs with editable templates the same way Blogger or Wordpress does, and can be directly referenced with a simple web address.

Funchain hopes to exploit the intersection between blogging and social networking, in ways beyond what the current incumbents can possibly do.
