Sprint Nextel Announces Dates for Annual Meeting and 1st Quarter 2006 Financial Results Conference Call

Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S) will hold its annual meeting of shareholders on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Reston, 1800 Presidents Street, Reston, Va. Details of the meeting are included in the proxy statement that was delivered to shareholders and is available online at www.sprint.com/investors/shareholders/annualmeeting.

Shareholders may listen live by phone to the annual meeting. The dial-in numbers for the conference call will be posted at the website listed above prior to the meeting. Lines are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sprint Nextel also announced that it plans to release first quarter financial results on the morning of Wednesday, April 26, 2006.
