Symantec Expert to Discuss Wireless Security at the Smartphone Summit During CTIA Wireless Conference

Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced that Paul Miller, Symantec’s director of mobile and wireless, will participate on the Smartphone and Wireless Security enterprise panel session at the Smartphone Summit in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at 4 p.m. PST. Miller’s presentation will address the state of the wireless and mobile security industry, best practices for how enterprises can protect their most valuable and confidential information from wireless attacks, security issues related to WiFi, WAN, VoIP and Bluetooth, and mobile security solutions.

“As the wireless technology continues to proliferate, both enterprises and consumers will need to be increasingly cognizant of security threats targeting wireless and mobile devices,” said Mark Winstanley, president and chairman, Smartphone Summit. “We are pleased to have Symantec participating on this particular panel since they bring a breadth and depth of insight and expertise of the mobile security space.”

“Symantec is thrilled to participate in the Smartphone Summit and further educate the industry and enterprise professionals on the mobile and wireless threat landscape and best practices to protect data and customers against tomorrow’s threats,” said Paul Miller, director, Symantec Wireless and Mobile group. “We suggest that companies take time to learn and prepare for the future now… rather than in a time of crisis.” Miller has more than 15 years in the security and wireless industry and leads Symantec’s wireless and mobile security strategy globally.
